Claire Cannie ( VTCT, MFHT)
Im an VTCT fully qualified and FHT insured therapist. In 2003 I qualified in Body massage and Sports Massage therapy, however it was my own pregnancy with my daughter that inspired me to pursue and train in pregnancy massage. Only then did I fully appreciate how truely amazing our bodies are and how much of a strain we put them under during this magical time.
The benefits of massage are huge but even more so through pregnancy.
Benefits include -
- Releases Oxytocin*
- Reduces anxiety
- reduces swelling in hands, feet and ankles
- Lessens Sciatic pain
- Eases muscular discomfort
- Strengthens the immune system
Just to name a few!
So if you are or know anyone who is pregnant why not get in touch?
is your friend! It's a hormone that helps relax and reduce blood
pressure and cortisol levels. It increases pain thresholds and has anti
anxiety effects. ( yes PAIN THRESHOLDS!)
Repeated exposure to oxytocin has long-lasting effects. Therefore regular massage is not only a little luxury but you are also preparing your body for labour! (PAIN THRESHOLDS!)
